It won’ be right to say that Homeopathy has no limitations. Every system of medicine has its own scope and limitations. This system of medicine also has the same. A few of the limitations are listed below:
Since we treat diseased individuals as per their non-healthy signs & symptoms, we cannot give our medicines to produce some desired physiological effects in healthy individuals. Like in family planning we don’t have much to offer because we cannot suppress, postpone or induce menstruation in a healthy female. I am yet to find confirmed Homeopathic contraceptive medicines.
Certain diseased conditions where mechanical procedures are required Homeopathy has little to no role to play. As in cases of fracture of bones (immediately after fracture), hernias where there is a mechanical defect, congenital deformities in body. In roadside accidents also we cannot help much so far immediate first aid help is concerned.
Some acute emergency conditions like Angina pectoris, myocardial infection, cardiac arrest, post-traumatic heavy bleeding, severe convulsions, status asthmatics, sudden paralysis, very high fever, severe hypertension, very high blood sugar level, severely disturbed blood electrolytes level, severe colics, etc. Homeopathy has its bottlenecks.
As a healthcare physician who works towards the welfare of society, I urge other physicians (homeopaths and allopaths) to understand the scope and limitations of their own system of medicine and guide the patients accordingly. The health of the patient is supreme, irrespective of the system of medicine, they opt for.
